This product is certified according to DIN 13432 and is therefore considered "compostable"*. According to DIN 13432, the raw material for the product decomposes into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass by more than 90% after a specified period under defined temperature, oxygen, and humidity conditions in the presence of microorganisms or fungi. A composting period of 10 weeks is used as the basis for testing biodegradability.
